  1. 1. What's Next?

The quickest way to get started with Wildfire and to begin distributing your content almost immediately is using one of our "Setup Wizards" which can be found at http://www.gigya.com/site/partners/api.aspx.

You may find a selection of Setup Wizards in the left-hand menu. Please pick a wizard which is compatible to your development environment:

  • Wildfire in page - for adding Wildfire to your website.
  • Wildfire in widget - for adding Wildfire to your Flash widget.

Both options offer "Standard" and "Advanced" wizards. For a quick start, we recommend selecting the "Standard" wizard.

The Wizards let you modify some basic Wildfire settings, while previewing the changes as you make them. Based on your modifications, the Wizards generate code that you can integrate into your own application with minimal modifications. You can then, of course, use the generated code as a basis for further manual tweaking.

In Step 1, you can modify some common visual and behavior-related properties of Wildfire; these settings take effect immediately, so you will be able to see a preview of your design in Step 2. Finally, you can grab the code from the appropriate tab in Step 3 and integrate it in your application.

Note: Wildfire must be loaded from a web server using a DNS name (i.e. www.mysite.com, and not localhost). If needed, you can use your Hosts file to map a DNS name to a local server installed on your own computer or another server in your local network.

What's Next?

The next step is to integrate the code copied from Step 3 into your environment.

The following pages provide some basic examples of such integration. In these examples, we use the default code generated by the Standard Setup Wizard (in page or in widget), wrapped in the most basic code. Each example is accompanied with code explanations that emphasize the parts in the code which you should modify once you place the code in your site.

Now, just proceed to the relevant page for your environment:
