Facebook - Opening an External Application

Phase 1 - Opening the Application in Facebook

1. Login to your Facebook account
2. Install the developer's application: http://www.facebook.com/developers/?ref=sb 
3. Click on "Set Up New Application" at the top of the page.
   
   
   
    
4. Enter your application name, check "Agree" to the Terms of Service and click "Save changes".
   
   
5. Load your 16x16 and 75x75 icons (you may upload only JPG, GIF, or PNG files).
6. Click on the 'Save Changes' button.
   
   
    
7. Click on the 'Edit Settings' link on the right-hand side of the screen.
8. Click on the "Authentication" tab on the left.
9. Remove the 'V' from 'Users' in 'Installable to?'.
10. Paste the following link in the "Post-Remove Callback URL" field:
Optional: If you are planning on configuring domain alias (CNAME), please replace 'socialize.gigya.com' with your alias sub domain (CNAME value), i.e.
11. Hit 'Save Changes'.
    
    
    
     
12. Click on the 'Edit Settings' link on the right-hand side of the screen.
13. Click on the 'Canvas' tab.
14. Enter a canvas page URL (7 chars minimum. Numbers are not allowed).
15. Paste the following URL in the "Canvas Callback URL" field: (the relevant field is marked in red in the screenshot below).
Optional: If you are planning on configuring domain alias (CNAME), please replace 'socialize.gigya.com' with your alias sub domain (CNAME value). i.e.
16. Click 'Save Changes'.
    
    
     
17. Click on the 'Edit Settings' link on the right-hand side of the screen.
18. Go to the 'Connect' tab.
19. Paste the following URL in the 'Connect URL' field:

20. Hit 'Save Changes'.
    
    
     
21. Go to the 'Advanced' tab.
22. In the 'Email Domain' field, please enter gigya.com.
23. Click 'Save Changes'.


 
24. Copy the "API Key" and "Application Secret" (you will need to paste them in Gigya's website, as described in Phase 2).
    
     
    
     

Phase 2 - Configuring Facebook's Application Keys in Gigya's Website

1. Go to http://www.gigya.com/ and log in.
2. Click on the "Get Gigya Socialize" tab and then hit the 'Edit' link on the right hand side of the page.

3. Press the "Edit" button that corresponds to the domain you wish to configure. You will be redirected to the "Configure Site Settings" page.
   
   
    
4. Paste your keys (The "API Key" and the "Secret Key" from the end of Phase 1) in the corresponding places:
   
   
    
5. Click the "Save Settings" button (which is located at the lower right-hand corner of the page).
    

That's it, Facebook configuration is complete! Please note that it might take up to 10 minutes for our system to become synchronized with Facebook.
