Version 2.5.1

  • A new Gigya widget is live - Newsfeed. The Newsfeed Widget promotes content discovery and user engagement. It also adds an element of real-time activity to the site's user experience. You can read more about that here.

Version 2.5

  • Partner can now configure Gigya to remove the extra authorization for offline access. Also, direct calls to Facebook connect client side API can now be made. Also added is a new API that enables partners to wait for Facebook connect initialization is complete.
  • We have added a new API calls for retrieving album and photos. You can learn more about this API in our Client Side documentation here or our REST API documentation here.
  • Login widget - a parameter now enables determining whether the last network indication (star) shows or not.
  • The Live Chat Widget has a few improvement - Better spam filtering - Ignoring non-alpha-numeric characters when looking for spam words, Smoother scroll animation of new items and support for adding a twitter feed.
  • Gigya Authentication options now include General OpenID log in.
  • Custom domains for short URLs service - partners can tell the Gigya platform to use their own short URL instead of Gigya's default short URL (soc.li).

Version 2.3.7 

  • We added a new Share Widget, which streamlines distribution to Social Networks and makes it easier for users to edit the feed content. Checkout our working example here.
  • 5 new openID authentication destinations are now available in Socialize - Blogger, Typepad, liveJournal, Hyves, and VeriSign.
  • We added an option to invite Facebook friends to visits the site. The invitation is fully configurable and available as an extra step in the login process. Read more about this feature here.
  • Any Socialize site key can work on localhost now - this makes it easier for developer's to test Socialize in their Development environments.
  • We have added a support to controlling the redirect URL that shows in Facebook's newsfeed "via" link. read more about this feature here.
  • Improved design for Socialize's openID login window
  • Socialize now support dynamic loading of the Socialize script tag.

Version 2.3.6

  • Support for linking user identities - The linking API is now available and partners can leverage that to link Site accounts with Social Networks accounts. Also, Socialize now automatically "links" an identity when the user connects to additional network, enabling users to authenticate with any connected identity for login purposes. read more about this in updated new Authentication section.
  • Added a new button style to Socialize login provider - the button are now available via a parameter in the API. They still don't show as an option in the Login customization API page - that will be added later this week.
  • Added Wordpress as a login provider - we now enable partners to include Wordpress openID authentication as a login provider. this is according to a request we got from Time.com

Version 2.3.4.6

  • Socialize now uses Facebook's new stream.publish API to support rich media newsfeed items and additional data fields. To learn more about the new Facebook Newsfeed support please read our developers guide on publishing user actions.
  • Released Socialize in Flash - The Socialize platform now supports Action Script 3 and Flex, enabling Flash developers to leverage the Socialize platform directly in those environments. <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type"/> <meta content="Word.Document" name="ProgId"/> <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Generator"/> <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Originator"/>
  • Added support for Yahoo as a Social Network destinations - Socialize now enables Y!OS users to get their list of friends, post newsfeed items and update their status via Socialize
  • Added support for Facebook's proxied email feature. read more about this here.
  • We added a revamped mechanism in Socialize for opening and closing popup windows. This should help solve some compitability issues with Safari and Chrome, to provide a better user experience.
  • Socialize now support specifying different destinations when emplying several Socialize API's. The support is included in the following calls: getUserInfo,
    publishUserAction, SetStatus by using the EnabledProviders parameter.

  • Improved load time and overall performance of Gigya Widgets.

Version 2.3.4

  • Gigya Socialize can now use the official Facebook connect dialog. For more details on using Facebook connect dialog, instead of using the external application authentication method, please read our advanced customization Facebook connect section.
  • To improve the user experience and ease of use, our Login Widget now indicates the last network the user logged into with.

Version 2.3.2

  • Added support for Twitter as new Social Network destination in Gigya Socialize (using Twitter's new oAuth support).
  • We made improvements to Socialize's Login, Connect and Friend Selector Widgets, Including supporting smaller sizes and transparency mode.
  • We added improved security options in Socialize's API calls and returned results. User object and Friend object now support a cryptographic signature. You can read more about securing the Get Friend Info call here.

Version 2.3.0Edit section

  • Socialize now enables secure authentication using MySpace, Facebook, Google, Yahoo and AOL.
  • We have made Gigya Socialize easier to integrate by:
    • Adding support for Gigya Socialize Markup Language (GSML).
    • Updating all user interface pre-built Widgets for a better user experience.
  • Partners can now retrieve all available information fields from Facebook and MySpace.
  • Partners can now receive additional user information fields from Yahoo and AOL.
  • We now provide partners with session data and application keys to make direct REST API calls to MySpace and Facebook platforms.
